One boxer, three BJJ belts: the changing problem of closing distance
September 8, 2026Part two brings boxer Nikita back to face Anton, Vlad and Sanya in sequence. The description lists an 80 kg boxer against a 73 kg purple belt, a 67 kg brown belt and a 76 kg black belt. Nikita is introduced as having no grappling training. Each matchup asks how these particular athletes manage punches on one side and grappling on the other.
Separate the task from the title
The episode’s forceful title is not an official scorecard. The published format has no judges and no official winner. Submissions and knockdowns count within the challenge, but the athletes reset and continue if able to do so safely. The boxer aims to keep distance and punch; the grapplers aim to close, take down and submit. This is an asymmetric gym test, not three sanctioned MMA bouts or a standard BJJ belt examination.
Compare the route to contact
Watch one complete exchange per opponent before comparing the whole episode. How does the grappler approach punching range? What connection is established before a takedown attempt? When contact breaks, can the boxer return to his preferred distance? The different bodyweights and individual styles matter alongside belt rank. A sequence of fresh opponents also changes the accumulated work for the athlete who remains in the challenge. None of those variables can be reduced to the colour of a belt.
Find a technical question worth following
The system connection is the transition from distance to standing control and then to ground control. Select an entry or reset you want explained rather than declaring an entire martial art effective or ineffective. Compare it with the blue-belt opening episode to see how the question develops across the series. Technical study should isolate the movement and agreed resistance; this striking-and-submission format is not a beginner drill to reproduce.
From the YouTube description
Boxer vs BJJ Part 2: the grapplers invited boxer Nikita back to their own gym — and this time he faces a purple belt, a brown belt and a black belt, one after another. Nikita has never trained grappling. No judges. No official winner. Watch the full fight, then tell us in the comments who was more effective. Nikita fights by his rules: keep the distance, land clean punches. The grapplers fight by theirs: close the gap, take him down, finish with a choke or a joint lock. After every submission or knockdown the fight does not stop — they reset and go again until the time runs out. Striking vs grappling. Punches vs chokes. One boxer vs three belts. THE FIGHTERS 🥊 Nikita — Boxer — 80 kg / 176 lb 🟣 Anton — BJJ Purple Belt — 73 kg 🟤 Vlad — BJJ Brown Belt — 67 kg ⚫ Sanya — BJJ Black Belt — 76 kg THE RULES - Boxer strikes, grapplers grapple — each side uses its own weapons - Submissions and knockdowns count - If the athlete can safely continue, the fight resumes until time expires - No judges’ scorecard — YOU decide WHO WON?
